We can all do our part to help stop the spammers from continuing to send us their crap emails. A little known fact is that one of the biggest ways your email address gets into spammers hands is by YOU forwarding on jokes etc with the whole list of email addresses it is going to visible for all to see. This gets passed around and eventually ends up on a spammers list. This small tutorial will show you how you can continue to send on your jokes etc, without helping to feed the spammers with email addresses.
This tutorial is based on using Microsoft Outlook Express, but the process should be similar for most other email clients (programs) too.
So, in Outlook Express, the first thing you should do is open up your address book and create a new contact. Call it ‘Friends List’ or whatever you want but make sure you put your email address in the address box and click on ‘Add’.

This may be slightly different in Microsoft Outlook.
In the main Outlook window click on the ‘Create Mail’ tab. You should then see a window like this:
You can either write your message first and then add the recipients or add the recipients first.
Click on the address icon in the ‘To’ box
to add the email addresses of the people you are sending the email too. You should then see a window like this:
Scroll down the list of your email addresses in the left hand panel until you find the one you just created called ‘Friends List’ or whatever. When you find it, click on it to highlight it, then click on the ‘To’ button. This will add your address as the main recipient and will be the only one seen.
Then scroll down the list again and highlight the names you want to send your joke or video to and click on the ‘Bcc’ button. This will add those names to the Blind Copy box and they will not be seen by anyone else when the email is sent. You can add them one at a time or hold down the Ctrl key and highlight them all and then click on the ‘Bcc’ button.
When you have added all the names you want, click on the ‘OK’ button and ‘et voila’, you’re done.
Please pass this information on to as many people as possible and who knows, maybe one day there won’t be any spam!!!
